At last . . .
. . . the bokashi bucket is full, which means we don't waste as much food as I thought. It's proving a very good idea so far, as nothing smelly is going into the kitchen rubbish bin. If we could reduce the packaging our food is in we would have very little rubbish at all now.
The full bokashi bucket will now sit and mull and moulder in the corner by the boiler for a few weeks, although I might ask my friendly expert if that is the best place for it. Our second bokashi bucket is now set up ready for use.
I took some photos of the garden recently, so I shall try and post them in the coming week.

As long as the bucket stays air tight the whole time and doesn't get /too/ hot then it should be fine there for a fortnight (by which time it is ready - any longer and it might get smellier).
Thanks for that tip, Simon.
